28th-29th May 2017 Still fitting strakes although getting to the tricky bits! Lots of cutting and shaping to fit.

27/05/17  I thought whilst access to the inside of the hull was still fairly good, I would drill out the hole to take the propeller tube, loosely fit the propeller and connect it to the motor. I could then mark the position of the holes for the motor mount. Having completed this, remove motor and tube and continue fitting strakes.

Construction began on 6th May 2017, I numbered all of the laser cut wooden parts before cutting them free. I am very impressed with the quality of the wooden components as well as the instructions which are photos linked to written guide. Essential to the construction is good quality glue and tools. Building of the hull structure was straight forward and all parts fitted as they should. The next stage involved fitting the "strakes" or planks to cover the hull.  So far I have been working on the tug for 10 hours.
I have never made a wooden model like this before, but spurred on by friends and family, I hope to share with you over the next months the ups and downs of a virgin model maker! Look out soon for photos and a progress report
